Step-by-step install Public Update SharePoint 2016 Feature pack 1 with Screen shots

Recently MS support team has announced about SharePoint 2016 PU with Feature Pack 1, today we are showing you how to install Public Update for SharePoint 2016 and we will describe all features with this PU.

Feature	Description
MinRole enhancements	The MinRole feature in SharePoint Server 2016 now includes two new server roles and enhanced support for small farms.
SharePoint Custom Tiles	SharePoint administrators can now add SharePoint and Office 365 workloads as custom tiles in SharePoint app launcher.
Hybrid Taxonomy	Hybrid Taxonomy is a new solution that you can use to create and maintain a shared taxonomy between your SharePoint Server 2016 farm and your SharePoint Online tenant.
Administrative Actions Logging	The Administrative Actions Logging feature provides logging around common SharePoint administrative actions to aid SharePoint administrators in troubleshooting changes to their farm.
OneDrive API for SharePoint on-premises and Office 365	The OneDrive API provides a support for access to files located in SharePoint Server 2016 and in Office 365. Use it to work with data stored in OneDrive and across SharePoint sites.
SharePoint Hybrid Auditing	This new feature for SharePoint Server 2016 lets administrators view user activity logs in the Office 365 admin center.
OneDrive for Business modern experience	OneDrive for Business end user experience has been updated with new functionalities from O365. The OneDrive for Business modern user experience requires an active Software Assurance contract at the time it is enabled.

• Log in as the SharePoint Farm service account.
• Once downloaded, Stop IIS services, SP timer and SharePOint services.

SharePoint Timer Service (SPTimerV4)

SharePoint Server Search 15 (OSearch15)

SharePoint Search Host Controller (SPSearchHostController)

• Next run downloaded exe which you have saved in local system and run as administrator.

• It will ask to select MS license terms select and click on Continue.

• It will show the progress like below:

• After installation completion we will getting below pop message to restart the system, click on yes to restart the system.

• After restarting the system, login to the system and run SharePoint configuration wizard to take effect. Follow the Configuration wizard setup to complete the task.
• Once Configuration SharePoint Product will complete successfully, we need to verify by checking by clicking on SharePoint update on windows server.
